Established 1948

The Wisconsin Antique Dealers Association (WADA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving our heritage in the State of Wisconsin. We strive to provide an ongoing education for our member dealers and the general public. The organization also has a history of providing grants to historical and heritage societies throughout the State of Wisconsin, helping them continue their missions of preservation.

WADA sponsors two quality antique shows each year on the first weekend in February and October. The shows are held at the Waukesha Expo Center in Waukesha, Wisconsin, just west of Milwaukee.

WADA dealers may do business through antique shows, antique centers and malls, individual shops, mail order, and appraisal services. On our site you can find detailed information on our members, the two WADA shows, and other items of interest.

Antiques for an Earth-Friendly Environment
By Debbie McArdle

"Antiques are the green movement personified," my friend, Stillie Mason, reminds me. "They are the ultimate affordable recyclable. Not only do they offer the immediate pleasures of objects of desire, their purchase and ownership are good for investment and for the environment. Our planet can be helped by investing in our historic treasures. In the process, pearls of history and our nation's heirlooms are preserved. This is preservation without the chemical preservatives... more like the preserves your grandmother used to put up in a Mason jar. You knew the bountiful harvest would be available for enjoyment in another season. Antiques can provide an historical and ecological bridge in shaping a green future." Many fewer rainforests will be destroyed. Less petroleum-based foams or volatile compounds need be created. The need for more landfills will greatly diminish.

"Decorative waste" - the kind of mass-produced decorative objects that are purchased now but ultimately designed to top off our landfills next year - are on the outs with those who are concerned about their own carbon footprint.

Earth-friendly furnishings of every shape and size, having already served 4 or more generations, are always available to serve present and future generations at the semi-annual Wisconsin Antique Dealers Association shows held in Waukesha.
